The Boiler Upgrade Scheme offers generous grants to help you switch to a more sustainable heating system. You can receive £7,500 towards the cost of an Air Source Heat Pump. This scheme is part of the UK government’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and promoting energy efficiency. You may be eligible for an additional £1,500, increasing your total heat pump grant to £9,000 when replacing an oil or LPG heating system.

To put it simply, you’re eligible for a grant if:
- you own the property you’re applying for
- you’re replacing fossil fuel heating systems – such as oil, gas, electric or LPG (liquefied petroleum gas)
How does an Air Source Heat Pump work?
Air Source Heat Pumps work by absorbing heat from the outside air and transferring it into your home. Even when temperatures are well below freezing, these pumps can extract heat from the air. ASHPs use the same technology that keeps the inside of your fridge cold, but in reverse.
