What Is Cavity Wall Insulation?
Most UK homes built after the 1920s are constructed with two layers of brick or block, with a gap, called a cavity, between them. Without insulation, that gap acts like a highway for heat to escape from your home.

Could I Get Funded Cavity Wall Insulation?
No, there are currently no schemes available to offer fully funded cavity wall insulation. The UK government’s Warm Homes Plan is the incoming home energy efficiency scheme, set to succeed ECO4 following its closure in March 2026. The scheme is expected to provide funded support for energy-efficiency improvements, including insulation, for eligible households on lower incomes.
Full details of the Warm Homes Plan, including confirmed eligibility criteria, funding levels, and the installer approval process, are still being finalised. Improveasy are actively monitoring scheme developments and will be registering as approved installers.
